The Benevolent Effects of Abolition

Early abolitionist activity in Britain was channeled through the Society for Effecting the Abolition of the Slave Trade organized in May 1787. This lithograph, published in Great Britain by abolitionists in June 1792 depicts, in a paternalistic manner, the effects of the abolition of the slave trade.
